Odyssey is a scalable, multi-threaded connection pooler for PostgreSQL by Yandex, spreads clients across worker threads that scale with available CPUs, with a bundled PostgreSQL and pgAdmin console included.
Unlike single-threaded poolers, Odyssey spreads clients across multiple worker threads. Leave WORKERS empty and it automatically uses every CPU available on the VM.
Odyssey keeps a small set of real PostgreSQL connections and lends them out as needed, so a modest pool can serve far more concurrent clients than PostgreSQL's own connection limit allows.
A PostgreSQL instance and pgAdmin console are included and pre-registered on first deploy, both the pooled and direct connections are ready to browse immediately.
Odyssey exposes a console admin database over the PostgreSQL protocol, run SHOW POOLS to see active/waiting clients and active/idle server connections live.
