Passbolt is an open-source password manager built specifically for teams, using OpenPGP encryption so that even the server operator cannot read stored secrets. Unlike typical web vaults, authentication is based on a per-user GPG keypair generated during an email-invited setup flow rather than a simple username/password login. The Community Edition is fully free with unlimited users; the paid Pro tier adds tag management, LDAP/Active Directory provisioning, account recovery (escrow), and detailed audit logs on top of the same open-source AGPL-3.0 codebase. This template bundles a phpMyAdmin instance (password-protected) for direct database access alongside the main app. Widely used across the security and DevOps community as a self-hosted alternative to commercial password managers.
